Transferring Wintershall Dea to new BPM system
The global company and one of Norway’s leading gas and oil producers, Wintershall Dea (WD), came to Arribatec in 2010 for consulting services regarding their management system. The initial goal was to implement a process-oriented management system for their Norwegian business unit to ensure compliance while fostering collaboration across departments and promoting ongoing improvement efforts.
Since then, we have supported WD with various consulting services related to continuous improvement. In 2022, a new global mandate led to the launch of a transfer project to establish a unified Business Management System (BMS) across all company locations. This development highlighted the intricate interplay between local and global governance aspects.
Long-term support for process orientation
Sylvia Elin Norheim, one of our senior consultants, has been overseeing the continuous improvement of the client’s BPM system. Her role includes providing advice, facilitating workshops, and modelling in QualiWare and Aris. She also serves as the main point of contact for all process owners in WD.
In addition to continuous improvement, we have delivered the following services:
- Establishment and implementation: Leading role during the establishment and implementation of the new business management system.
- Compliance: Laying the foundation for all employees to work in accordance with set requirements and guidelines while collectively working towards set visions and objectives.
- One common system across business units: Leading role during the transfer project, ensuring accurate content transfer and acting as an advisor when building and configuring the new BMS in Aris to meet their specific needs.
Some of the outcomes of these projects:
- Well-established process ownership: Clear distribution of responsibility (owners and owners’ representatives), ensuring a good regime for continuous improvement. Clear line between global vs local processes that strengthens collaboration across locations.
- One global holistic process-based management system: New common system for all their business units. The transition went smoothly, and their end-users now only have to deal with one system.
The «Transfer to Aris» project
In the fall of 2022, WD started the “Transfer to Aris” project, for which Norheim served as the project manager on behalf of Arribatec. In this role, she oversaw technical coordination with consultants on both sides and ensured the accurate transfer of content to the new BPM system.
Our consultants worked closely with the owners and owners’ representatives to verify the transfer and acted as advisors to the company, helping them determine how to build and configure the new BMS in Aris to meet their specific needs.
«We are very happy with Arribatec and Sylvia Elin in the role as project manager through the years. We now have well-established process ownerships and one holistic management system across all entities»
